"Read for Peace" – A Bimonthly Book Group by Richmond Peace Education Center

In August 1945, the U.S. dropped the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima.
80 years later, we come together to read John Hersey’s haunting and humanizing account of six survivors—and reflect on what peace means in a nuclear world.

Why now? This August marks the 80th anniversary of the bombing.  Ongoing concerns over nuclear threats, including in Iran, make this conversation urgent.

As peace educators and community members, we’ll explore: What have we learned—and what must we do now?

Facilitated by the Executive Director of Richmond Peace Education Center
Free & open to all. Whether you've read the book or not, join us for meaningful conversation and reflection.

Let’s learn from the past to shape a more peaceful future.
