How important IS the auction to RPEC anyway? Good question. And here’s the short answer. It’s the single most important event we do all year to raise funds. We’re looking for the 2014 auction to bring in almost a fifth of our total yearly budget which is most of our program budget. That means that our work for peace and justice in Richmond and the wider world is directly dependent on a successful auction.
Think of all the work RPEC does to promote a culture of non-violence in Richmond and beyond: our youth leader development work, our non-violent conflict resolution trainings, our work on racial justice, our work on alternatives to militarization, our work on global peace and justice issues. All of it needs a successful auction to continue to grow.
What every RPEC member and supporter can do…..buy tickets, attend the auction on November 8, and bid a lot. It’s a fun evening, you will go home with some great stuff, and you’ll literally make it possible for RPEC to continue and to expand our work of building the “beloved community” here in Richmond.
What if I’m unable to attend the auction? Buy some tickets anyway. Even if you don’t go to the auction, buying tickets is a great way to support RPEC programming. And we will donate your unused ticket(s) to our youth leaders and others who may not be able to afford to attend.
So buy tickets now. To get your tickets, click here and use the paypal button or call the office at 804-232-1002!
