With 250 guests, more than 400 wonderful items, and a festive atmosphere, RPEC had a fun-filled and successful Dinner & Auction on November 9. The event broke records for the Center, which has seen its auction grow dramatically over the last several years. This year, the event netted about $23,000, or 16 percent of RPEC’s budget for the year, more than any previous year. The proceeds will support all of RPEC’s work for peace and justice.
We are grateful for the support of seven sponsoring organizations: Ice Cream Connection, LaDifference, Soloman and Ludwin, Ten Thousand Villages, Troutman Sanders, Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities, and Wythken Printing. We are also grateful to professional auctioneer Karen Murphy, who made the live auction fun and memorable.
This event is pulled together with the assistance of countless volunteers, led by the Auction Committee. Let us know if you’d like to join the auction committee next year – we’d love to have your involvement.
We also appreciate all of you, our members and supporters, who attended, donated items, donated tickets, and volunteered. This event truly is a peace community celebration. . . and RPEC is buoyed by your support.
