Generation Dream 2014 is the Richmond Youth’s Peace Project’s annual Educoncert honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. It is presented as part of Richmond’s annual Living the Dream commemoration.
This year’s shows are scheduled for:
Friday, February 7, 2014, 7 p.m., at the Richmond Public Library, 101 E. Franklin St.
Sunday, February 9, 3 p.m., at Maggie Walker Governor’s School, 1000 N. Lombardy St.
Sunday, February 16, 2014, 3 p.m., Central Rappahannock Regional Library, Fredricksburg.
We are currently seeking talented young artists to offer performances of about 5 minutes or less: singers, instrumental musicians and groups, dance, short dramatic presentations, or spoken word. All performances must in some way reflect Dr. King’s message of peace, nonviolence and social justice.
Young performers may be asked to take part in one or more of our performances, depending on the number of performers interested in participating.–It is not necessary to be available for all dates in order to participate.
Auditions are required for those who have not been in the show in prior years. Young people (and their adult mentors) interested in auditioning should email firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible.
Auditions will be held at our November 21 RYPP meeting–or we can also schedule them at your convenience at any time this month.
