The Richmond Peace Education Center’s movie night is quickly approaching and this month’s film is not one to miss! On October 27th, at 7pm, RPEC is hosting their movie night at the peace center, 3500 Patterson Ave, where we will come together to view the film Let Freedom Sing: How music inspired the Civil Rights Movement. This film will share with us first person accounts of the music that gave Mississippi Freedom Writers the courage to march on in the face of danger. We will witness the songs that were sung at the 1963 March on Washington, where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. gave his I have a dream speech. This film shares the music that inspired generations of people to take up the struggle for civil and human rights across America and the World. Please come out to the peace center with friends and family on October 27th to share in this movie that will be sure to leave us all feeling empowered. We can’t wait to see you soon!
