Panel on Youth Gun Violence Featured at Peace Summit

RPECsquare2Community activist Duron Chavis and Pastor James Wilkins spoke about the topic of preventing youth gun violence at the 2013 Youth Peace Summit, which took place on Saturday, April 27th. RPEC’s Richmond Youth Peace Project (RYPP), the organizing force behind the summit, was launched in 2004 as a response to the murder of a local teen. Changing the culture of youth violence in Richmond by engaging and empowering local teenagers has been a main focus of RYPP, and we have continued to address this issue of teen gun violence through workshops, forums, and panels.
