Our volunteers are an integral part of the Peace Center’s operations. It’s thanks to our volunteers that we achieve so much with a modest budget. As a volunteer, you will help us create a more peaceful and just community, and also gain valuable experience and meet others who are committed to social change and peace.

Ways to Volunteer with RPEC

RPEC always needs volunteers, and there are a variety of volunteer opportunities available depending on your skills and capabilities. The following areas are actively seeking new volunteers:


Richmond Youth Peace Project  Help organize, plan and coordinate activities with Richmond’s youth to create innovative ways to reduce youth violence. Collaborate with Drums No Guns, our partner in this effort.  Contact our youth programs at rypp@rpec.org.


Issue Education  Help plan and organize public forums on timely issues of peace, war, nonviolence and justice.


Fundraising  Help write grants, organize fundraising events, assist with bulk mailings and/or make phone calls.


Auction  Help organize RPEC’s most important fundraising event of the year!


Communications  Plan/write articles for our newsletter. Work on our website, maintain/update media and/or contact lists.


Office Support  Answer the phone, assist with bulk mailings, perform data entry and any other office tasks.  Plus, get a chance to work with our super cool admin, Jo!


Technical Support  Provide technical/computer support.
